They keep saying the Left is melting down, but in this case it really did melt down.
As the government shutdown enters its third week with no clear end in sight, a 3,000-pound ice sculpture was unveiled on the National Mall, spelling out the word “democracy.”
Glinting in the midday sun, it started melting almost immediately.
And they say global warming isn’t real.
Titled “Last Call – DemocracyICED,” the sculpture is part of a national campaign led by Ben & Jerry’s ice cream co-founder Ben Cohen called Up in Arms, which calls for less military spending and more money for social programs. Organizers planned to have it sit out all day until it melted.
That’s the company which had a Hezbollah supporter setting policy so I’m gonna be a bit skeptical that they’re opposed to military spending. Perhaps military spending by us, but not Islamic terrorists.
Ben also has an estimated net worth of $100 million which he’s using to agitate against America, Israel and the free world and melt a bunch of ice instead of using it for some of those ‘social services’.
Anyway how does melting 3,000 pounds of ice accomplish anything? Except produce something that tastes better than Ben and Jerry’s (a low bar admittedly.)
As the ice sculpture began to melt and drain into jugs behind it, people walking by stopped to look. The melting might take 10 or 12 hours, organizers predicted.
This is the platonic ideal of pointless virtue signaling in which modern artists funded by a wealthy leftist waste everyone’s time and make a mess to protest the results of an election that they lost.
