NextImg:Congresswoman Tied to Chinese Spy Claims Criticism of China Causes Hate Crimes

I’m not sure how criticizing China’s ongoing war on America causes black people to attack Asians in San Francisco and New York City, but perhaps Rep. Judy Chu and Fang Fang can explain better.

Rep. Judy Chu, D-Calif., spoke about the connection between anti-China rhetoric and anti-Asian violence at a launch event Wednesday for a new institute dedicated to the late Vincent Chin.

“Already, Asian Americans have been suffering three years of anti-Asian hate due to Trump calling Covid-19 ‘China virus’ and ‘kung flu,’” she said. “But now, the rhetoric and tension about the U.S.-China relationship comes on top of that, potentially escalating that violence. Today, the focus has shifted to extremists engaging in racial profiling of Chinese Americans.”

The Vincent Chin Institute aims to end anti-Asian hate in the U.S. and advance education on Asian American issues. It’s named after a Chinese American man murdered in 1982 by two white auto workers who blamed Asians for layoffs in the industry.

The vast number of attacks on Asians today come from black men, as Chu and the Chin Institute know perfectly well. Dion Lim, a newscaster, spends time documenting them on social media. Black people did not suddenly begin attacking Asians because of a Trump comment about COVID-19. Just ask Al Sharpton who was harassing Asian people back when Trump was just a celebrity real estate developer.

Chu, the first Chinese American elected to Congress and the chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, addressed racist vitriol she has experienced from her colleagues in the House of Representatives.

“Even I have been accused by extremist right-wing Republican congressmen, in particular this one from Texas, of being a spy for China,” she said.

I can’t imagine why and the media won’t tell you.

Remember Fang Fang, the Chinese spy?

Fang helped with a fundraiser for Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) in 2013, according to a flyer from the event Fang shared on Facebook. She appeared in photos over multiple years with a host of California politicians, including Khanna, Swalwell, Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.) and then-Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.).

That’s a list of people who should never be in any position where they have access to national security materials.
