TikTok, the wildly popular Chinese-owned social media app, has hired top Biden-connected consulting firm SKDK as it faces increasing scrutiny in Washington…SKDK is seen as the most well-connected Democratic firm in Washington with former top employees in senior and mid-level roles in the Biden administration. Anita Dunn, a founding partner, returned to the White House last May where she is senior adviser after a stint in the early part of the Biden administration and work on the 2020 campaign. Other former SKDK employees in the Biden administration include deputy White House communications directors Kate Berner and Herbie Ziskend, deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh and Interior Department press secretary Tyler Cherry.

In 2017, Politico called SKDK “the loyal opposition where powerful Democrats plot the anti-Trump agenda.” The Holmes Report dubbed the firm “the hub of the resistance.” Beginning with our efforts to oppose the Muslim Ban in the first week of the Trump presidency, SKDK stood strongly against systemic cultural and societal inequalities as the administration rolled back protections for millions of Americans.

Dunn continues to counsel Biden whenever he seeks her input, and she regularly advises Cabinet officials and White House aides, according to the person close to Dunn. A video released by the White House of Biden preparing for his State of the Union address featured Dunn sitting on a couch in the White House next to press secretary Jen Psaki and communications director Kate Bedingfield.
