NextImg:Black Lives Matter Mansion Fund is Almost Depleted

“Say it with me, Black Mansions Matter! I want to hear you say it again, Black Mansions Matter!”

Sadly, the Black Mansions Matter fund, I’m sorry, Black Lives Matter fund, is not doing so well. I blame systemic racism, systemic illiteracy, and systemic grifting.

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation ran an $8.5 million deficit and saw the value of its investment accounts plummet by nearly $10 million in the most recent tax year, financial disclosures show. The group logged a $961,000 loss on a securities sale of $172,000, suggesting the charity weathered a staggering 85 percent loss on the transaction.

Like most lottery winners, BLM didn’t earn the money and had no idea what to do with it except buy stuff.

The group has blown through two-thirds of the $90 million it raised in the wake of George Floyd’s death in the summer of 2020.

BLM spent about $12 million of those funds on luxury homes in Los Angeles and Toronto. That profligacy did not abate in the 2022 fiscal year, when the charity dropped more than $10.5 million on contractors, much of which went to companies linked to Cullors’s friends and family…

Black Lives Matter disclosed last May it had paid Paul Cullors a comparatively meager $841,000 to protect the charity’s swanky $6 million Los Angeles mansion in its 2021 tax year, which Patrisse Cullors used to film herself baking peach cobblers. The charity told the Associated Press it could not entrust its security to the former police officers that staff typical private protection firms.

It’s gonna take a whole bunch of race riots to refill BLM’s coffers, but that’s okay. It’ll also take a whole lot of race riots to put Biden back in the White House. Just think of it as synergy.

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has claimed the Los Angeles Police Department is responsible for her cousin’s death during a traffic stop.

Cullors said on Instagram on Tuesday that her cousin, Keenan Anderson, was killed in Venice, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, on Jan. 3…

According to the LAPD, an officer was flagged for a traffic collision on Venice Boulevard on Jan. 3 when he saw Anderson “running in the middle of the street and exhibiting erratic behavior.”

The LAPD said people in the accident told the officer that Anderson had caused the crash.

Can’t imagine why.

When police reach Mr Anderson and attempt to detain him, he is initially compliant before shouting: “Please” and “help” and “they’re trying to George Floyd me!”

“I’ve been challenging law enforcement for the last 22 years […], but I’ve never had someone this close in my family be killed by the police,” Cullors told NPR.

“It’s a devastating reality that any one of us could be impacted by the crisis that is the U.S. police system,” she added. “We have to do something.”

A toxicology report produced by the LAPD showed that Mr Anderson’s blood tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.

It’s hard to put an exact price tag on how many mansions it will take to bring Anderson back. Probably at least 2.

On Jan. 20, Lawyers for Anderson’s 5-year-old son announced they have filed a $50 million claim against the city of Los Angeles over the incident.

Okay, maybe three mansions.
