On Saturday, Biden is scheduled to speak at a private Eastside fundraiser hosted by tech executives and other major Democratic donors, including Microsoft President Brad Smith, Amazon general counsel David Zapolsky, former Microsoft President Jon Shirley and former Costco CEO Jim Sinegal.

Local sources reported seeing the presidential motorcade outside of Gates’s home in the Medina neighborhood of Seattle.

Mr. Biden planned two campaign receptions on Friday outside San Francisco, the first at the Portola Valley home of Vinod Khosla, a billionaire Silicon Valley venture capitalist, followed immediately by a second in Palo Alto hosted by the former chief executive of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer.
