There’s a moment in Howard Jacobson’s novel, ‘The Finkler Question’, where a celebrity (whose identity is not hard to guess) “found out he was Jewish at all in the course of making a television programme in which he was confronted on camera with who he really was. In the final frame of the film, he was disclosed weeping before a memorial in Auschwitz to dead ancestors who, until that moment, he had never known he’d had. ‘It could explain where I get my comic genius from,’ he told an interviewer for a newspaper, though by then he had renegotiated his new allegiance. Born a Jew on Monday, he had signed up to be an ASHamed Jew by Wednesday and was seen chanting, ‘We are all Hezbollah’ outside the Israeli embassy on the following Saturday.”

Nothing spurs celebrities to discover their Jewish roots like the opportunity to cheer for the murder of Jews.

So Boots Riley, a ‘filmmaker’ (if we’re being generous) whom you never heard of is making headlines for protesting against Israel as part of a ‘Jewish Voice for Peace’ hate mob.

Hundreds of protesters took over the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland on Monday night, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Video from inside the federal building, shared on X (formerly Twitter), showed the slew of protesters, many of whom were wearing matching shirts that read “Jews Say Ceasefire Now” and “Not In Our Name.”

Among the protesters, much of whom appeared to be with Jewish Voice For Peace, was Sorry to Bother filmmaker Boots Riley, who shared several updates from the inside over social media.

“The govt of Israel does not act on behalf of, nor represent, Jewish people.” he said via X. “A bunch of us are only leaving if it’s in handcuffs.”

I’m sorry, who exactly is “us”?

Boots Riley is the son of a black father and a half black mother. He’s never shown any predilection for claiming to be Jewish until he had the opportunity to rally for Hamas while wrapping himself in the ethnicity of his lone Jewish grandmother. But he did discuss his love for Communism.

Who does Boots Riley believe “Jewish people” are? Let’s hear it from his Jew-hating mouth.

It’s the thing with this scripture. At the time when all that stuff was written, there wasn’t Christians and there wasn’t Islam yet. The folks that lived there, the ancestors of the Arab folks that are Palestinian were Jews back then, so the folks that they’re trying to kick out, the Arab Muslims that they’re trying to kick out, their ancestors were the ones that were there during the time of the scripture and who converted to Islam. The Ashkenazi folks that are mainly running Israel are descendants of people in Europe who didn’t convert to Judaism until later.

This is Nation of Islam stuff. It’s gutter antisemitism which claims that Jews are fake Jews and Muslims are the real Jews. This is some of the stuff that the black nationalists who murdered Jews in New York and New Jersey believed.

This is the crowd that ‘Jews for Peace’ draws.

(Good thing that Andrew Esensten and J, the Jewish News of Northern California, decided to use Boots Riley as their face of opposition to Israel’s self-defense against Hamas.)

Boots Riley isn’t alone. There are a whole lot people who decided to be Jewish just in time to support the murder of Jews. On Seinfeld, a dentist converted to be able to tell Jewish jokes. In real life, they fake convert to be able to kill Jews.
