Independence from the mighty British Empire, declared on July 4, 1776, birthed the United States of America, the freest, most prosperous nation ever to exist on earth. On the other hand, the USA has since joined globalist organizations that threaten its independence and well-being as much as any British king. Consider, for example, the World Health Organization.

Headquartered in Geneva, the WHO claims to “promote health, expand universal health coverage and respond to emergencies.” With the Covid emergency the WHO was a complete failure, and may have been a key collaborator.  That has prompted two countries to declare independence from the globalist organization. In January, President Donald Trump announced:

The United States noticed its withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020 due to the organization’s mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, and other global health crises, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states.  In addition, the WHO continues to demand unfairly onerous payments from the United States, far out of proportion with other countries’ assessed payments.  China, with a population of 1.4 billion, has 300 percent of the population of the United States, yet contributes nearly 90 percent less to the WHO.

In February, president Javier Milei announced that Argentina was also leaving the WHO due to “profound differences in health management, especially due to the pandemic, which led us to the longest confinement in the history of humanity.” In late May, the United States and Argentina made the withdrawal official. Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Argentine health minister Mario Lugones proclaimed:

There are well-documented concerns regarding the early management of the pandemic and the risks associated with certain types of research. Rather than ensuring timely transparency, the WHO failed to provide critical access to information, impairing countries’ ability to act swiftly and effectively, with devastating global consequences.

The absence of meaningful reforms, disproportionate financial demands, and the increasing politicization of the organization have ultimately led the United States and Argentina to withdraw from the WHO. . . We can no longer support a system that fails to protect our people or deliver on its mandate.

“Certain types of research” is a reference to the gain-of-function research, that makes viruses more lethal and transmissible. Dr. Anthony Fauci, longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in Communist China. In early 2020, Dr. Fauci proclaimed, “I join my fellow representatives in thanking the World Health Organization for its role in leading the global response to this pandemic.” WHO director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, a non-doctor accused of covering up three separate cholera outbreaks in Ethiopia, took it to another level.

The Chinese government is to be congratulated for the extraordinary measures it has taken to contain the outbreak,” proclaimed the WHO director in February 2020. “Tedros is really an outstanding person,” said Dr. Fauci in March, 2020, and under his leadership the WHO “has done very well.” The USA and Argentina don’t think so, and have now left the WHO. That should set the stage for withdrawal from the United Nations, a Stalin-era bust from the start.

In 1945, Soviet diplomat Andrei Gromyko suggested that U.S. State Department official Alger Hiss should be the first UN Secretary General. As the late Angelo Codevilla noted in Informing Statecraft, Hiss was a Stalinist spy and Soviet agent of influence. See also Perjury: The Hiss Chambers Case, by Allen Weinstein and Whittaker Chambers’ classic Witness.

At the opening conference of the UN in San Francisco, the speech of U.S. Secretary of State Edward Stettinius was written by Stalinist screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who joined the Communist Party during the Nazi-Soviet Pact. See Dalton Trumbo by Bruce Cook and this writer’s Hollywood Party. For more UN insight, dial it back 50 years.

In 1975, the Communist Khmer Rouge was marching Cambodians into the countryside and conducting mass executions. The United Nations did not consider the possibility of human rights violations until long after the Communists had exterminated approximately one-fourth Cambodia’s population. The UN Secretary General at the time was Kurt Waldheim, who as a Nazi soldier participated in atrocities against civilians during WWII.

As the joke had it, the former UN boss was afflicted with “Waldheimer’s Disease,” which made him forget he was a Nazi. The revelations surfaced when Waldheim ran for president of Austria in 1986, and the United States banned him from entering the country.

“The United States helped found the United Nations (UN) after World War II to prevent future global conflicts and promote international peace and security,” President Trump said in a February statement, “but some of the UN’s agencies and bodies have drifted from this mission and instead act contrary to the interests of the United States while attacking our allies and propagating anti-Semitism.”

According to the president, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) “has reportedly been infiltrated by members of groups long designated by the Secretary of State (Secretary) as foreign terrorist organizations, and UNRWA employees were involved in the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.

The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) “has protected human rights abusers by allowing them to use the organization to shield themselves from scrutiny, while UNESCO (UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) “has demonstrated failure to reform itself, has continually demonstrated anti-Israel sentiment over the past decade, and has failed to address concerns over mounting arrears.”

President Trump also noted that in 2018 “the United States withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council.” In 2025 the president has grounds to withdraw the USA from the United Nations and evict the globalist talk-shop from American soil. That long overdue move would be great preparation for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence next year. 2026.

Call it the American Independence Movement (AIM), and let it begin this July 4.
