NextImg:After Rapist Shoots 2 Cops, DeSantis Suspends Soros Pro-Crime DA

Selective prosecution, whether of Trump or by Soros pro-crime DAs who decide that the law shouldn’t apply to criminals, has become a signature of the leftist takeover of the prosecutorial system.

Instead of following the law, from the DOJ down to local prosecutors, there are “priorities” and double standards. When prosecutors go after someone for viewpoint discrimination, that’s bias, and when they refuse to prosecute someone for political reasons, they’re not doing their jobs.

There was outrage in Florida over the attempted murder of two cops by another “justice-involved individual” as the pro-crime left has now taken to calling criminals.

Court documents revealed new information showing just how close police came to catching Daton Viel in June before he shot two Orlando police officers over the weekend.

Viel, 28, is accused of shooting two Orlando police officers this weekend during a traffic stop.

Police stopped Viel because he was in a car that was connected to a murder case in Miami.

Viel was also awaiting trial, accused of raping a young girl at Trotter’s Park in Orlando.

According to court records, the girl was walking to school last December when he offered her a ride to class. Documents show he took the minor to the park and had sexual intercourse with her against her will before driving her to the school in a red Ford Fusion.

Soros DA Monique Worrell then held a press conference and claimed that she didn’t want to engage in “finger-pointing” and “blaming” and that the shooter had to be considered innocent until proven guilty. And then blamed gun violence for a rapist who should never have been out on the street shooting two cops.

Gov. DeSantis responded by suspending the Soros DA for failing to do her job.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the suspension of State Attorney Monique Worrell from the ninth Judicial Circuit with Attorney General Ashley Moody and members of Florida’s law enforcement.

“We had a duty to act – to protect the public from this dereliction of duty,” the governor said.

“The people of Central Florida deserve to have a State Attorney who will seek justice in accordance with the law instead of allowing violent criminals to roam the streets and find new victims,” DeSantis said in a release.

“Worrell’s practices and policies have too often allowed violent criminals to escape the full consequences of their criminal conduct; thereby endangering the innocent civilians of Orange and Osceola counties,” the release read.

The governor’s office stated that the main factors that played into the suspension included Worrell avoiding minimum mandatory sentencing for gun crimes and drug trafficking offenses, while limiting charges for child pornography and ignoring “valid and applicable” sentencing enhancements.

“I’m appointing Judge Andrew Bain to take over as state attorney for the ninth judicial circuit,” DeSantis said.

“Ms. Worrell, the state attorney in the ninth circuit has dismissed more charges of defense than any other state attorney in the state of Florida during the same period.”

Worrell responded by calling DeSantis a “dictator” and the national media has ignored the context of a rapist shooting two cops as the inciting incident behind all this.

DeSantis had previously suspended another Soros DA who had announced that he wouldn’t enforce laws on the books, and this needs to be standard protocol in Republican states when dealing with Soros DAs. If a public official refuses to enforce the law, he or she should be suspended. People are entitled to have government officials who, at the bare minimum, are doing their jobs.

Soros and other pro-crime special interests can buy DA races for the advocates for criminals.

Leaders of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, Desmond Meade and Neil Volz, chair and treasurer of Our Vote Our Voice Political Action Committee, have all but overwhelmed the advance campaign advertising for Tuesday’s primary in Florida’s 9th Judicial Circuit State Attorney race. The money was transferred into the PAC from FRRC through a project with Tides Advocacy, and another $1 million from Democracy PAC.

Both Tides Advocacy and Democracy PAC are heavily funded by Soros.

In the last JC 9 State Attorney election, in 2016, other PACs heavily funded by Soros poured $1.4 million into Orlando advertising during the closing weeks, helping elect Aramis Ayala.

Worrell, like Ayala, is an outsider promoting criminal justice reform. Ayala is not seeking a second term and has endorsed Worrell.

Looks like Soros has wasted his millions in Florida.
