NextImg:After Obama Flopped With Black Men, Kamala Sends In Bill Clinton

It’s a plan. It’s not a great plan, but it’s a plan.

Kamala has issues with black men. Or they have issues with her.

The campaign’s Plan A was to deploy Obama who accused black men of being sexist for not getting excited about Kamala. The backlash to that one was big enough that it showed up in the Washington Post and New York Magazine.

Plan B for winning over black men is another former president. And they’ve only got so many of them.

Former President Bill Clinton will hit the trail this weekend to begin what is expected to be a very targeted push across battleground states through Election Day, three sources familiar with his plans told CNN.

The former president will seek to appeal to rural voters, among whom polls have shown Vice President Kamala Harris is performing worse than some of the last few Democratic nominees, particularly among younger black men.

I’m not sure sending in Bill Clinton, a guy who last had a major public presence when the average young black man was in diapers or in elementary school, is really the answer here.

But this strategy strikes me as more of an attempt to get rid of Bill.

Clinton won’t appear at rallies. Going back to a kind of campaigning that he hasn’t done since before he became the “Comeback Kid” in the 1992 New Hampshire primary, Clinton’s schedule is for local fairs and porch rallies, talking to at most a few hundred people at a time.

Bill Clinton used to be a good campaigner around the same time Joe Biden was. It’s hard to say which hack declined worse.

Suffice it to say, it’s a sad spectacle.

Bill Clinton, strangely enough, kept the looks but lost everything else, beginning with the voice, the charisma, and the ability to connect with voters. Considering that there was a time when he was hyped as the second coming of JFK, you can imagine what he might have looked like if JFK were still alive and trying to campaign for Bill Clinton in the 90s.

Is this gonna win over black voters? Black voters did initially stick with Hillary over Obama. And Bill Clinton proved to be a compelling salesman for Obama. But the entire back bench is faded now, all that’s left is Kamala and whatever celebs they can dig up. Bill Clinton won’t be winning this election for her. Neither will Obama. They’d have a better shot with Jimmy Carter.
