As usual, it’s not about how many we catch, it’s about how many we don’t.
Dems originally opened the border expecting half of South America to show up, instead half the world has begun showing up. Including the Jihadist parts of it.
A person on the U.S. Government’s terror watchlist was arrested near a U.S.-Mexico border crossing in San Diego as thousands of migrants flocked to the United States seeking asylum ahead of the expiration of Title 42.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin tweeted that, “Border Patrol agents in San Diego sector arrested an Afghan national on the FBI’s terror watchlist after he crossed illegally w/ group of migrants near Otay Mesa, CA on Wednesday.”
Who were the other members of that group? Don’t expect much in the way of a proactive investigation.
There’s been a whole lot of these terror watchlist arrests.
In fiscal year 2022, CBP apprehended 98 people whose names appeared on the terror watchlist trying enter the US illegally. That number is on pace to top 150 in fiscal year 2023.
Border enforcement officials apprehended more than three dozen people named on the federal terrorism watchlist at the US-Mexico frontier in the final three months of 2022 — after a record number of terror suspects were caught in the 12 months ending Sept. 30 last year.
That gives us some sense of the scale of the problem. Assuming that for every single terror watchlist Jihadi busted, two others go through (a conservative estimate), we’re looking at thousands after some years of this.
Not to mention fine upstanding non-Jihadis like these.
In the Rio Grande Valley Sector, agents arrested 11 MS-13 gang members and four child sex predators, including a Salvadoran man convicted of raping a 13-year-old child. Agents also arrested a Colombian man who was convicted of murder for hire in New York.
Sure, let’s imagine there are no open borders. Whom could it hurt?
