NextImg:15-Year-Old Sues Montana Because State Has Too Many Trees

Greta Thunberg has gotten old, literally (she’s 20) and politically (she’s tiresome), time to bring on a fresh crop of victims to serve as the fresh faces for the green litigation to destroy the economy and tax us to death.

Here’s the most sympathetic case that they’ve got in their lawsuit against Montana… for having trees.

Mica, aged 15, learned about climate change at the young age of four, when his parents showed him the documentary Chasing Ice.

This is what’s known as environmental child abuse. And political indoctrination of child soldiers.

Mica came home from the film crying, he recalled. His parents helped him send a letter about the climate crisis to Senator Jon Tester, a rare Democrat in office in Mica’s home state of Montana.

Good work mom and dad.

Since then, Mica told the first judicial district court of Montana, he has learned more about climate change in school and by reading scientific articles, and has become involved in advocacy to combat it. He has also seen its effects first-hand.

Mica is one of the 16 youth plaintiffs in the 2020 lawsuit Held v Montana, which is being heard in the state capital, Helena, this week. The challengers allege that state officials have violated their constitutional rights to a healthy environment. The trial, which began on Monday, marks the first ever constitutional climate trial in US history.

A lover of the outdoors, Mica, who lives in Missoula, Montana, said he was frequently bothered by smoke from wildfires. This makes it hard to go for runs, something the young plaintiff has enjoyed since he was five.

When he can’t train due to the smoke, Mica said, he feels “trapped”.

He’s got asthma and he’s living in a state with 8 million acres of forest. What is Montana supposed to do? Chop down all the trees so they don’t catch fires? Wildfires are natural and inevitable. Living close to them isn’t always ideal during certain times of the year if you have respiratory issues. Mica’s parents could fly him out somewhere else. Or they could use him as a child soldier to destroy the country.

The state declined to cross examine Mica or Badge Busse, 15; and did not ask questions of the three young plaintiffs who testified Monday.

Badge testified Tuesday that climate change can restrict his outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and downhill skiing. There was a time, he said, when a forest fire near his house forced his family to prepare to evacuate, calling it “one of the most terrifying experiences of my life.”

His mother gathered baby books and he had to gather some of his treasured belongings and prepare to leave the only home he’d ever known. Fortunately, he said, they did not have to leave.

8 million acres of trees. There will be forest fires. The state should offer to chop down all the trees and see how that goes over with the eco freaks.
