Hunter Biden's lawyer gave an optimistic prediction for his client, hours after reports broke that the first son was entering a plea deal over charges from the Justice Department.

"My expectation ... is he'll be released without conditions," said attorney Chris Clark after MSNBC's Katy Tur asked whether Biden would be on probation, adding that "the ultimate decision of the case is going to be up to the judge."

Prosecutors charged Biden with a felony gun crime and misdemeanor tax crime charges on Tuesday, the latter of which he has agreed to plead guilty to in a likely exchange for no prison time.
