NextImg:WATCH: Climate Activists Wail as Nevada Cops Flatten Roadblock

Climate activists sobbed and screamed as Nevada police officers, after driving through their makeshift barricades, arrested them for blocking the road.

The officers, rangers from the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police, drove through the barricades and then arrested the protesters at gunpoint. The blockade caused a miles-long backup for attendees of the Burning Man festival, which the demonstrators were protesting for attendees' use of private jets.

The demonstrators were part of the climate activist groups Seven Circles and Extinction Rebellion. A ranger can be heard in video of the incident saying the arrests are for "trespassing on tribal land."

Climate protesters around the world have taken to disrupting events and traffic in order to gain attention. A group shut down a fundraiser for Massachusetts governor Maura Healey (D.) last week.

A climate activist who blocked a Washington, D.C., highway earlier this year admitted that she's consciously "disrupting people's lives" and drew a comparison between herself and civil rights pioneers who were "not well liked during their time."
