Prominent political scientist Carol Swain, who accused Harvard University president Claudine Gay of plagiarizing her work, posted to Facebook a seven-point plan to fix the embattled Ivy League institution.

"I have some free unsolicited advice for Harvard University," Swain, formerly of Vanderbilt University, said Thursday in a Facebook post. "1. Stop listening to the apologists for plagiarism. 2. Fire Claudine Gay posthaste."

Swain, who says that Gay lifted, without credit, sections from books and articles Swain released in the 1990s, went on to urge Harvard to "stop listening to the racist mob of whites and blacks who cry racism while being among the worst offenders" and "apologize to alumni, students, parents, and donors who have been harmed and embarrassed."

Swain's advice for Harvard comes two days after the school received a complaint outlining over 40 allegations of plagiarism against Gay. Those allegations must be reviewed by Harvard's research integrity officer, according to the school's policies, and a guilty finding can result in "suspension," "rank reduction," or "termination of employment."
