Night came hard. Drones and missiles struck Kyiv. The city shook. Four were killed, including a 12-year-old. A kindergarten and many homes were hit. The silence after the roar was all that remained.

Poland sent jets. Kyiv says a $90 billion weapons deal was signed; Moscow says it shot down 41 Ukrainian drones.

Across the Channel, the 'one-in, one-out' plan keeps the stream moving. Since Aug 3, more than 7,000 have entered; seven were sent back. Crossings rise; August logged about 3,500 boats, with thousands more in September. Arrivals since 2018 pass 185,000; 2025 could be the worst yet.
