CNSNews: Trump Signs Bill Saving Taxpayers $1 Billion by Defunding NPR, PBS Public Media
President Trump has signed a rescissions bill, officially cutting taxpayer funding for NPR and PBS, saving $9 billion, including over $1 billion for public media. This funding had not been spent, allowing for its rescission.
Supporters argue that public media has shown liberal bias and is no longer necessary due to the availability of alternative news sources. The bill was passed by Congress and signed as part of a broader effort to reduce government spending.

An Arizona woman, Christina Marie Chapman, has been sentenced to 102 months in prison for orchestrating a fraudulent scheme that aided North Korean residents in posing as U.S. citizens to secure remote IT jobs. The operation, which lasted from 2020 to 2023, involved the theft of identities from 68 Americans and generated over $17 million, benefiting both Chapman and the North Korean government.
Chapman pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. The investigation revealed she hosted laptops from defrauded companies in her home and shipped devices to a Chinese city near North Korea. Alongside her prison sentence, she must forfeit over $284,000 and pay a judgment of $176,850.

BYD alone saw a 311% increase in registrations, outperforming established brands. While Chinese brands thrive, traditional giants like Stellantis and Tesla experienced significant market share losses. Despite challenges, battery electric vehicles also reached a milestone with over one million registrations.
