The Taliban claims to have obtained a leaked list of 25,000 Afghans who assisted British forces, labeling it a "kill list." They assert that those on the list are being hunted down, with a special unit tasked to find them, despite many going into hiding or fleeing Afghanistan.
The UK Government had previously secured a super-injunction to prevent disclosure of the list, fearing it would endanger the Afghans. A judge recently lifted the injunction, stating that keeping the list secret may have increased the risks for those named.
