GB News: Scotland set to benefit from lightning fast broadband as top contract awarded for major infrastructure rollout
The Scottish Government is advancing its goal of nationwide broadband access with a £105 million Project Gigabit contract for the north east of Scotland. This initiative aims to connect 99% of Britain to gigabit-capable broadband by 2032, benefiting around 63,000 properties by summer 2026.
The project, delivered by Scottish internet service GoFibre, is part of a broader effort to improve connectivity in rural areas, where commercial funding is often insufficient.
