The DVSA has implemented new regulations for HGV drivers traveling internationally from the UK to enhance safety and comply with international agreements. Effective immediately, drivers must now produce 56 days of records for international journeys, doubling the previous requirement.
The changes also include the need for HGVs to retrofit smart tachograph 2 by specified deadlines, which automatically records border crossings and aids in enforcing drivers' hours rules. These updates apply only to international operations, with no changes for domestic drivers.
