GB News: Britons face HUGE fines for giving colleagues 'rude' nicknames as man forced to pay £30k for calling workmate 'Mad Paul'
A London lawyer, Leo Foster, was fined £15,000 and ordered to pay £16,000 in costs for using offensive nicknames for colleagues at BNP Paribas, including "Jabba the Hutt" and "Pol Pot." This case sets a precedent for significant penalties for inappropriate workplace behavior.
Foster admitted to using these nicknames and acknowledged that his colleagues did not consent. He claimed no racist intent and cited stress from management changes as a factor in his conduct. Following the ruling, he negotiated an exit from the bank in 2022.
