The Home Office is relocating about 400 asylum seekers from the Bibby Stockholm barge to accommodations in the Midlands, intending to close the vessel by year’s end. This follows Labour's decision to end the costly barge contract amid a backlog of nearly 120,000 migrants awaiting asylum decisions.
