WWE Raw advertised an open challenge as Damian Priest answered Seth Rollins’ Twitter invite to vie for the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Raw also advertised MizTV with Cody Rhodes and women’s Money in the Bank qualifying matches pitting Becky Lynch against Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark against Natalya.

Last week’s broadcast of WWE Raw garnered 1.611 million viewers.

Damian Priest is on the precipice of super stardom, but after another so-so promo, it’s becoming more apparent that he may need a manager to get him there.

Poor Finn Balor caught the brunt of Seth Rollins’ promo. He caught strays about his daunting history against Rollins, whether it be getting injured by Rollins or his brief Universal Championship reign.

Rollins declared a stipulation of no outside interference. Priest accepted, and Balor was none too pleased.

Becky Lynch Def. Sonya Deville

Trish Stratus and Zoey stark interrupted this match as their bond continues to grow. WWE pairing Stark with Stratus is more indication of just how high on her they are. In fact, Zoey Stark could be a darkhorse to win Money in the Bank.

There was a hitch in the finish where Lynch had to double-pump for the Manhandle Slam, but she still got the job done despite outside interference.

I wouldn’t have been surprised if both Lynch and Stark cost each other their matches, but it appears both will be in Money in the Bank to possibly cancel one another out of winning.

If IMPERIUM is supposed to be such a serious, stable, why is their entrance coordinated like a 2000’s boy band?

The Kevin Owens character has become increasingly unhinged in recent weeks, and is now know for his nasty temper.

Based on sheer physicality, Kevin Owens and GUNTHER are perfect for one another, especially in a match where Owens took most of the punishment.

Despite how physical this match was, GUNTHER won via rollup.

Backstage, Matt Riddle handled both members of IMPERIUM by himself, including trapping Giovani Vinci in an ankle lock.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter were introduced in a “trial by fire” match that hey had next to zero chance of winning.

Ronda Rousey said her and Shayna Baszler would speak with Adam Pearce about having a match with Carter and Chance, only for Rousey’s music to hit and the team to walk to the ring without consulting with him.

Chance and Carter looked about as good as a tag team could look in defeat. They even hit their finish on Ronda Rousey.

Shayna Baszler broke up the pinfall after Rousey took Carter and Chance’s 450 Splash-neckbreaker combo, and Kevin Patrick noted how Rousey “somehow kicked out.”

LA Knight appears to be the odds-on-favorite to win, and I fully expect him to don Money in the Bank-inspired gear.

Despite the popularity of these two midcard babyfaces, their match did not have much heat.

Bronson Reed crashed this match, and fans came alive, chanting “one more time” after he hit the Tsunami on Ricochet.

The Miz hilariously sang along with Cody Rhodes’ theme. Even more hilariously, Miz told Rhodes he looked “dashing” tonight.

Miz sandbagged Cody Rhodes by bringing out Dominik Mysterio. The look on Rhodes face was priceless.

With the biggest babyface in the business sharing a ring with the biggest heel in the business, the reaction was very loud.

Dominik Mysterio get especially personal with Cody Rhodes when he called hi ma deadbeat dad.

Rhodes told Dominik Mysterio that he had a worse prison tattoo than Rhodes’.

Rhodes: “I know Rey Mysterio has made some terrible mistakes, and I know that because I’m looking at one.”

After Dominik slapped Cody, Dom hid behind Rhea Ripley only for Cody to strike Miz with his cast.

Corey Graves made sure to thank Trish Stratus while he was in her presence.

This crowd picked and chose when it wanted to react, and unfortunately for Zoey and Natalya, when it came to their match, Hartford, Conn. declined.

Graves predicted Zoey Stark would win Money in the Bank.

During a backstage segment, SmackDown’s Paul Heyman advertised Jey Uso making his “historic choice” regarding his future with the Bloodline.

Indus Sher mauled Cedric Alexander and there wasn’t even an official match.

This was billed as the one of the biggest matches in the history of Raw, which is a bold claim.

WWE did little to build up Priest as a credible challenger after his loss last week, so fans patiently waited for the inevitable.

Fans got into this match toward the end, where Rollins predictably retained.

As a callback to those strays for Finn Balor, Seth Rollins recreated the buckle bomb spot against the barricade, and it looked like it hurt even worse, particularly Priest’s tailbone.

Finn Balor did not seem too pleased with Priest accepting Rollins’ challenge of no outside interference. Priest was similarly frustrated with Balor interfering. Could this be the beginning of the end of Judgment Day?

Raw went off the air with Rollins and Balor face-to-face.
