An American nurse and her daughter have been released following their kidnapping in Haiti last month, according to a statement released Wednesday by the Christian group the woman works for—ending a jarring abduction as violence continues to grip the country.
Alix Dorsainvil and her daughter were kidnapped from a community ministry late last month.
Alix Dorsainvil and her daughter were kidnapped from a community ministry her husband founded, called El Roi Haiti, in the capital of Port-Au-Prince on July 27.
In the statement El Roi Haiti confirmed the “safe release” of both Dorsainvil and her daughter who “were held hostage in Port au Prince.”
The statement did not note the condition of either Dorsainvil or her daughter.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
