The United Nation’s highest court—whose orders are not immediately enforced, but can have later ramifications—told Israel to “immediately halt” its military operation in Rafah and allow for humanitarian aid to the area, where more than 800,000 people have been relocated due to the combat.

The court passed its order in a 13 to 2 vote.
The court found the ongoing situation posed an “immediate risk” to the people of Gaza.
The order is legally binding—but the ICJ has no ability to enforce it, and Israel has suggested it would continue on with the operation regardless of the ruling.
