United Flight 1533, which took off around 6 a.m. EST with 202 passengers, was forced to make an emergency landing around 7:50 a.m. local time in Chicago on Wednesday morning.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the flight landed due to a “security issue” but provided few other details.
United also confirmed in a statement to Forbes that the flight landed due to a “security concern,” and was met by law enforcement upon arrival.
Passengers on the flight told CBS 2 Chicago that a bomb threat was found written in the airplane’s bathroom.
