The Trump Organization teased the event with Trump and Trump Jr. in a press release Wednesday that linked to a website, “trumpannouncement.com,” with a countdown clock to Monday at 8 a.m. ET.
Trump’s sons “will return to the iconic Trump Tower to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their father famously coming down the escalator and announcing to the world that he was running for President of the United States,” the press release declares.
The press release gave no details on what the announcement could entail, and a spokesperson for the organization declined to provide any additional information to Forbes.
Trump transferred control of The Trump Organization, and his other businesses, to the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, in an effort to appear to distance himself from his private businesses while serving as president. Donald Trump Jr. serves as trustee, though the Trump Organization admitted in an April filing in the U.K. he retains control over his businesses.
We estimate Trump Tower is worth $200 million, including $100 million in debt for a net value of $100 million. Trump owns the office and retail space.
Trump declared his candidacy for the GOP nomination at Trump Tower on June 16, 2015, after descending the golden escalator at his Manhattan skyscraper before delivering a speech in which he derided Mexican immigrants and alleged China outwitted former President Barack Obama and other U.S. leaders.
