Scott Hall, who was charged with interfering with voting machine equipment during the 2020 election, pleaded guilty Friday to five criminal misdemeanor counts in a negotiated deal with prosecutors—the first plea deal among those charged in connection with former President Donald Trump’s plot to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Hall had to make a recorded statement for the district attorney’s office as part of the plea deal and will be required to testify truthfully in future trials for other defendants who have been charged with crimes in relation to the 2020 election, according to the plea deal that was read during the court proceeding Friday.

As part of the plea deal, Hall will receive five years of probation, be required to pay a $5,000 fine, be required to write an apology letter to the state of Georgia, be forbidden from participating in polling and complete 200 hours of community service, though the court could extend these terms during his sentencing hearing.

Hall, 59, had been accused of breaching a voting machine in Coffee County, Georgia, in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election in favor of Trump.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
