President Donald Trump said Saturday military members will receive their paychecks on Oct. 15, ending speculation troops might have to go without pay amid the government shutdown.

AFP via Getty ImagesTrump said on Truth Social he has instructed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “to use all available funds to get our Troops PAID on October 15th” and that the White House has “identified funds to do this, and Secretary Hegseth will use them to PAY OUR TROOPS.”
Trump previously suggested military will be paid, despite the government shutdown, though it was unclear what funds would be used to distribute the checks.
