


Former President Donald Trump will appeal his felony convictions, he said Friday, a day after a Manhattan jury found him guilty of 34 counts of falsifying records—setting the stage for the case to drag on past the November general election.

“We’re going to be appealing this scam,” Trump said Friday during a press conference from Trump Tower, calling Judge Juan Merchan a “tyrant” who “wouldn’t allow us to talk,” referring to the gag order in the case prohibiting him from disparaging various participants.
Trump was widely expected to appeal the case—his attorney Will Scharf told CNN Thursday his legal team would “take this as high and as far as we need to, including the U.S. Supreme Court.”
