Former President Donald Trump and golfer Phil Mickelson, arguably the two most prominent backers of the controversial, Saudi-funded LIV Golf league, took to social media Tuesday to bask in the stunning announcement about LIV joining forces with the PGA Tour.
Trump, left, and Mickelson, right, celebrated LIV's surprising team-up with the PGA Tour on Tuesday.
The merger is a “ BIG, BEAUTIFUL, AND GLAMOROUS DEAL” for golf, Trump, who hosted several LIV tournaments at his golf courses, declared on his Truth Social platform.
Mickelson, a PGA Tour veteran who received more than $100 million to defect to LIV, tweeted Tuesday was an “awesome day,” attaching a smiley-face.
