Trump made the comments in a post on Truth Social Tuesday that featured a Daily Mail article about actor and Democratic activist Mark Ruffalo apologizing for posting a fake photo claiming to show Trump en route to Epstein’s infamous private island.
Ruffalo on Friday posted two photos to X of Trump on a plane surrounded by groups of young girls, claiming they were “all headed to Esptein’s ‘Fantasy Island,’” but later apologized after the post was flagged with additional context from readers who said it was AI generated.
Predicting artificial intelligence “will be a big and very dangerous problem in the future,” Trump suggested Tuesday “strong laws ought to be developed against A.I.”
In addition to likening Ruffalo’s post to “what the Democrats do to their Republican Opponent,” Trump denied that he was ever on Esptein’s plane or his private island in the Caribbean where Epstein allegedly sexually abused young girls.
Trump’s name was included in a tranche of newly released court documents revealing names of Epstein’s associates as part of a settlement agreement between alleged Esptein victim Virginia Giuffre and Ghislaine Maxwell. One of the alleged victims who testified in the case recalled that she was on Esptein’s plane when he suggested making a pit stop at Trump’s Atlantic City casino, but they never ended up landing there. Trump, who has been photographed with Epstein and Maxwell over the years, has described the two as acquaintances in their Palm Beach social circle, but has said they had a falling out years ago.
