President Donald Trump will announce a new trade agreement with the United Kingdom Thursday, weeks after unveiling steep new tariffs on virtually all U.S. trading partners in his “Liberation Day” announcement.

Trump teased the announcement in a Truth Social post Wednesday night, writing that it would be the “first of many” new post-Liberation Day agreements and calling the deal with the U.K. “full and comprehensive.”
The U.K. was exempt from Trump’s sweeping “reciprocal” tariffs, outside of the 10% baseline tariff imposed on all countries, and is also subject to Trump’s 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports to the U.S.
