


Former President Donald Trump and his former aide, Walt Nauta, pleaded not guilty to additional charges filed by special counsel Jack Smith last month tied to his investigation of Trump’s handling of classified documents.

Trump—who wasn’t in attendance at the courthouse Thursday morning—and Nauta both entered guilty pleas in the new charges against them.
The superseding indictment added one count of willfully retaining national defense information and two counts related to concealing or destroying documents to the 37 charges Trump was already facing.
The charges against Nauta and Mar-A-Lago’s former head of maintenance Carlos De Oliveira—who will be arraigned next week as he doesn’t have a Florida lawyer, CNN reported—included making false statements, conspiracy to obstruct justice and corruptly altering, destroying or concealing documents.
