Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” became Spotify's most-streamed album in a single day Friday, breaking the same record previously held by Swift’s 2022 album, “Midnights.”

“The Tortured Poets Department” was released Friday and became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day by exceeding 200 million streams, Variety reported.

“Midnights” held the previous record with 184.7 million streams in one day.

The record-breaking milestone also helped Swift become the most streamed artist in a single day in the history of Spotify, according to a tweet from the music streaming service, breaking her own previous record made through the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”

“The Tortured Poets Department” still has time to further its record, as it has about five hours left to generate more streams.

The record broken by “The Tortured Poets Department” on Thursday set the record for most pre-saved album countdown in Spotify’s history. .

We estimate Swift’s net worth at $1.1 billion as of Friday.

The cryptic rollout for Swift’s new album was the source of rampant buzz and speculation among fans this week. The album has 16 songs and one bonus track, though there are four physical versions of the album on vinyl with a different bonus track. Swift is only a few months removed from the end of her most recent tour and the release of “The Eras Tour” concert movie. The movie grossed $260 million worldwide, while Swift’s tour was estimated to have generated the singer-songwriter $305 million in its first few months last year.
