Based on the third book in Jenny Han’s trilogy, We’ll Always Have Summer, Season 3 picks up four years after the Season 2 finale. Belly is finishing her junior year of college and is in a relationship with Jeremiah, while Conrad is at Stanford studying to become a doctor. And even while dating other people, Steven and Taylor can’t stay away from each other.

Conrad may have been out of sight and out of mind for Belly, but as another summer in Cousins approaches, her first love slowly starts to come back. "Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life," the synopsis reads. “Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same.”

Unfortunately, this season will serve as the final installment of Prime Video’s beloved romance drama. And while readers of the book might think they know how it all ends — including which brother Belly ultimately chooses — Han teased that twists are in store. "There are definitely changes," the author told Entertainment Weekly. “There are surprises. And there are things that aren't exactly like the books.”

New episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 are released every Wednesday at 3 a.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT on Prime Video.

While Season 3 will serve as the last season, it will also mark the longest of the series. There will be a total of 11 episodes in The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3, compared to the eight-episode first and second seasons.

In an interview with People, Han revealed that she considered splitting the third and final book, We'll Always Have Summer, into two seasons because "there's a lot of story, and it covers a wide expanse of time."

"My preference was three seasons, but I also wanted to allow the storytelling room in case I felt like we needed more time," she continued.

Instead, the author settled on a longer final season with 11 episodes. “We needed more canvas for the story, so that's how we ended up with 11 episodes. But yeah, three books, three seasons. It feels right to me.”

Following the two-episode premiere on July 16, new episodes of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 will be released on Wednesdays at 3 a.m. ET until the series finale on September 17, 2025. Check out the full release schedule below.
