Amazon Prime Video's 'Fallout'
The very first images from Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series have landed and they’re pretty great. In an era where most TV adaptations—whether we’re talking about books or video games or comics—seem to be butchered beyond repair, these first look images give me hope.
For one thing, the Power Armor looks absolutely terrific. A lot of attention to detail and respect for the source material seems to have gone into the costumes in general.
The new series, from Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, lands on Amazon Prime Video on April 12th, 2024. It’s an adaptation of Bethesda’s wildly popular video game series set in a dystopian (and often humorous) post-apocalyptic world where survivors have lived in underground Vaults. The games have a retro-futuristic 1950s aesthetic that combines terrifying nuclear apocalypse with a rather upbeat post-WWII era propaganda, similar to the retrofuturism in Loki.
The show’s cast includes:

Hopefully Fallout is a faithful adaptation like One Piece, Vox Machina, or Arcane and not a complete whiff like The Witcher or too many others to list. I have high hopes, even if I should know better!
