Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have reportedly left Romania—where they have been charged with rape and human trafficking—and are on their way to the U.S., the BBC reported early Thursday, in a move that comes days after reports of President Donald Trump pressuring the Romanian government to lift their travel restrictions.

According to the BBC, the controversial “manosphere” influencer and his brother departed from Romania on board a private jet that is heading to the U.S.
The Romanian federal law enforcement agency DIICOT (Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism) issued a statement, appearing to confirm their departure from the country, that said the duo’s request to lift a travel restrictions was granted.
The statement, however, noted that the case against them remains active and the brothers will be required to appear before Romanian courts when summoned.
