Sunreef Yachts already build a wide variety of luxury catamarans that range in size from the sexy, 44-foot-long Ultima to 100-foot-long sailing and power catamarans that are designed to be both luxurious and eco-friendly. But the new 65m (213-foot-long ) superyacht concept they introduced at the Monaco Yacht Show is on a whole other level.
In revealing the first renderings of Sunreef’s latest concept, Francis Lapp, the shipyard’s tireless and innovative founder and CEO shows how committed he is to bringing Sunreef’s special brand of luxury to bigger and bigger yachts. The massive reverse bows, extensive use of darkened glass, and simple, elegant curves are pure Sunreef. With a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots, the 65M Sunreef Explorer has the range to cross oceans and spend extended periods in remote cruising areas. And features like the retractable A-frame crane allow crew to move big heavy equipment like submersibles, boats, or off-roaders with ease. In fact, the crane can handle up to a 45-foot-long chase boat.
“I can’t imagine a more comfortable platform for a genuinely ambitious cruising program,” Lapp said. “The 65M Sunreef Explorer is an exquisite yacht designed to provide long-term luxury for a large owner’s party. It offers so much space for easy living and carrying large quantities of supplies and toys. At the same time, it is an incredibly efficient operator. This is a yacht to broaden the horizons of an exceptional owner.”
As you can see in these renderings, with seven double cabins for guests, two interior dining and lounging areas, a pool, hot tub, beach club and gym, the interior is both spacious and sumptuous. The large and private owner’s suite spans a good chunk of the entire upper deck. A king-size bed is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows, and the master suite has his and hers bathrooms, a huge walk-in closet, and an office too.
Two VIP cabins have walk-in wardrobes and large bathrooms. Four more double guest cabins, all with their own dedicated storage and bathroom are on the main deck. And there’s comfortable accommodation for 22 crew.
The main deck level has a dining area for up to 14 around a custom-built oval table and tons of floor-to-ceiling glass. Dimensions are more intimate are on the upper decks where a less formal dining area, a cozy four-seat bar, and a deep, L-shaped sofa provides the perfect place to chill.
