Bannon’s lawyers have suggested their client may be eligible to finish his 120-day sentence from home, but the Bureau of Prisons said there was not enough time to coordinate moving him, so his release date will remain Oct. 29, according to a letter filed in federal court by Bannon’s attorney and obtained by CNN.
Bannon was sentenced to four months in prison and a $6,500 fine for contempt of Congress after he refused to cooperate with a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 Committee.
The former chair of right-wing outlet Breitbart News and White House aide repeatedly tried to get his sentence delayed, but was unsuccessful, and reported to prison in Danbury, Connecticut on July 1.
