Fourth victory in four matches for Real Madrid. A perfect start so far.

Real Madrid came slightly victorious (1-0) against the current bottom team of La Liga F, Villareal this Saturday.

A late decisive goal (90’) by the Danish superstar Signe Bruun seals the victory for Los Merengues at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium and keeps the team on top of Liga F’s table.

Assisted by the World Champion Olga Carmona, the former Olympique Lyonnais forward continues her great form with the Blancas, scoring her third goal in four Liga F matches.

A European night is up next as Alberto Toril’s side will be looking to maintain their impressive winning streak as they will be fighting for qualification to the Champions League against Vålerenga in the Women's Champions League Preliminary Round (Wednesday, 8:00 pm CET).

Caroline Møller was in the starting line-up for the first time this season, teaming up with Signe Bruun up front. Olga Carmona and Sofie Svava were on the left side, while the right side saw a combination of Oihane Hernandez and Hayley Raso. Teresa Abelleira and Linda Caicedo were on the bench. The captain, Ivana Andres, was in defense as she’s adding up minutes following her series of injuries.

Real Madrid could have taken the lead in the first five minutes as Svava’s powerful shot hit the crossbar. Rocio Galvez was at the rebound but her shot went wide.

Villareal’s line of 5 defenders tested Las Blancas’ nervousness and forced them to multiply their long-range inaccurate attempts. In minute 18, Claudia Zornoza tried her luck from long range but her shot went over the crossbar.

In the second half, Carmona and the French duo Sandie Toletti-Naomie Feller also had their chances, but to no avail. Real Madrid were unable to break past the Villareal’s defense. Despite having most of the possession, the Madridistas were heading into an undeserved draw.
