Authorities in Houston are responding to reports of a shooting at Lakewood Church, the mega church run by pastor Joel Osteen.
Just before 4 p.m. ET, Lakewood Church posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, saying there was an active shooter situation that included shots fired and law enforcement were on the scene.
While Osteen reposted Lakewood Church’s tweet, he himself has not made any public comments.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said it’s possible a shooter was shot by a deputy who responded to the scene, adding, “info remains preliminary, as things remain dynamic.”
It’s unclear how many people may have been shot.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
