


Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., was found guilty on all 16 charges levied against him in his corruption trial Tuesday, according to multiple outlets, after prosecutors charged the controversy-prone senator with using his political power to help the Qatari and Egyptian governments as well as three New Jersey businessmen in exchange for gifts and cash.

Menendez, who pleaded not guilty to his charges, was convicted of 16 federal charges including bribery, fraud and obstruction of justice.
Prosecutors alleged Menendez received gold bars, more than $400,000 in cash and a Mercedes-Benz in exchange for helping the governments and businessmen.
