Uribe pleaded guilty to counts including honest services fraud, obstruction of justice and tax evasion in addition to the conspiracy to commit bribery charge.
Uribe will be sentenced on June 14, a little more than a month after Menendez and three other co-defendants begin their trial.
Uribe was accused of giving Menendez’s wife, Nadine Arslanian, a Mercedes-Benz in exchange for the senator’s intervention in a fraud investigation launched against him.
Menendez and his wife have pleaded not guilty to four counts each, while two other businessmen have also pleaded not guilty to their bribery-related charges.
Menendez’s attorney didn’t immediately respond to Forbes’ request for comment.
