A Russian military transport plane carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war crashed in the border region of Belgorod on Wednesday, Russian state media reported.

According to the state-controlled news agency TASS, an Il-76 military transport plane transporting 65 prisoners of war, six crew members and three other people crashed at around 11:00 a.m. Moscow time.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the captured Ukrainian soldiers were being transported to Belgorod “for an exchange,” with no further details given.
The cause of the crash and the state of those onboard is unknown.
