At least three Real Madrid players have been arrested by Spain's Civil Guard for their alleged part in a case reported by El Confidencial as involving the recording and spreading of a sex video containing a minor.
The newspaper explained on Thursday afternoon how investigations into the matter are being conducted by Las Palmas' Civil Guard.
Several footballers are allegedly involved in the case which entails recording a sexual video with a minor and spreading it to be watched by other players.
At least three players have been arrested for allegedly committing the crime of "revealing secrets of a sexual nature".
Their identities are still yet to be revealed. But according to El Confidencial, they are players from Real Madrid's famous 'La Fabrica' academy and reserve and third teams.
The same source believes that other players from the first team could be tied to the case, but the extent of their alleged participation is unknown.
The investigation and its subsequent arrests stem from a complaint the mother of a minor made in the Canary Islands on September 6.
The mother went to report the alleged events, explaining that one of the detainees recorded a video of a sexual nature which her daughter was in and later spread it.
El Confidencial reports that the main accused party in the case plays for Real Madrid C and has or previously had a relationship with the minor.
The three suspects were reportedly arrested this morning and taken to police stations to be questioned.
According to El Confidencial, investigators want to seize their mobile phones to help advance the investigation, which could lead to finding out if more players are involved and possibly making further arrests.
Real Madrid are yet to comment on the developments either through a statement or in the Spanish media.
