After years as one of the world's biggest stars who straddled pop and hip-hop, Post Malone is trying something new. The musician recently released a country track with genre favorite Joe Diffie. A reworking of the late star's "Pickup Man" was showcased during the recent CMAs, and now it has become not only a win on the charts but Malone's first real foray into the field.

"Pickup Man" appears on several Billboard charts this week, following its first full frame of availability. It brings Malone to two of them for the first time, expanding his reach to even more of the weekly lists.

Malone debuts highest on the Country Digital Song Sales chart. "Pickup Man" opens at No. 7 on the list of the country tunes that actually sold the most copies in the past week. The cut sold just over 2,850 copies, according to information shared by Luminate. Malone and Diffie land the second-highest debut of this period on the Country Digital Song Sales tally, coming in just one space behind Kenny Chesney's "Take Her Home."

"Pickup Man" is also a win on the all-encompassing Hot Country Songs chart. That list ranks the most-consumed tracks in America labeled by Billboard as country. Malone and Diffie send their unlikely hit collaboration to No. 34, making it an instant top 40 smash on the roster.

In its second week on the Country Airplay chart, "Pickup Man" gains ground. It debuted at No. 54 last frame after a short window of availability in which country radio DJs put it into rotation. Now, it's up to No. 48, climbing slowly but steadily.

The same cut also arrives at No. 16 on the all-style Digital Song Sales chart. It marks Malone's milestone forty-fifth hit on the tally and Diffie's fourth. Diffie earned all of his placements on the purchase-only ranking following his passing, with three of his biggest hits—including the original solo "Pickup Man”—appearing on the tally in April 2020 just after the news of his death was shared.
