Francisco Oropesa was arrested “without incident” at about 7 p.m. local time in Montgomery County, the local sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Oropesa was arrested one county over from Cleveland, Texas, the small city north of Houston where the shooting took place late Friday evening.
Hundreds of police officers have scoured the area for Oropesa in recent days, with authorities conducting door-to-door searches for the suspect, even as FBI officials said Sunday they had “zero leads” and weren’t sure if he fled the region.
