PS Plus June

Everything we know about June's PlayStation Plus lineup.

June is almost here and with it the arrival of summer at long last. Winter was long and cold and very, very snowy in my neck of the woods, and spring has been just about perfect, but I’m definitely ready for summer—and my kids are certainly ready to be done with school. One more week and it’s freedom.

While summer is a great time to be outside, all that free time is also great for playing video games, and PlayStation gamers have another month of free PS Plus titles coming to all three subscription tiers: Essential, Extra and Premium.

This May, Sony has added a ton of great games to PS Plus:

Be sure to claim the Essential games before June! The rest will stay in the PlayStation Plus catalog until they’re removed.

The basic rule of thumb for Sony’s PS Plus lineup reveal is that the announcement typically comes on the last Wednesday of the month. However, the only real constant here is that Sony will release the new games on the first Tuesday of the month and usually announces them the previous Wednesday. This means that Sony should reveal the games on Wednesday, May 31st and they’ll become available to claim on Tuesday, June 6th. You’ll have until the 5th to claim May’s titles.

There’s only one leak I’m aware of for June and it’s for a PS Plus Premium title. The game is Herc’s Adventures, a classic PS1 game only available on the most expensive tier of PlayStation Plus.

There are a couple games releasing on June 6th that could be potential PS Plus titles. The big one is Diablo IV and I seriously doubt that will make the cut, but Amnesia: The Bunker is a survival horror game coming to PS4 that could potentially be on the list. The fact that it’s not out on PS5, however, makes me dubious.

With Starfield around the corner, maybe another Bethesda RPG like Fallout 4 would make sense—but also maybe not, now that Microsoft owns Bethesda.

Beyond this, we can make some predictions and games for the wish list. My list currently includes:

Last June we got the PS4 God Of War, so maybe we’ll get another big first-party game this June. I keep thinking they’ll give away The Order 1886 and it never happens. Maybe this time!

Whatever we get, it will not make up for all the games that were removed from PlayStation Plus when the PS Plus Collection was removed this May.

In December, one of my predictions was Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order which ended up being correct—which is, I admit, quite rare. In any case, maybe one of these will be correct also. What are your predictions? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.

In other news, Sony really needs to build its own Call Of Duty killer. Nothing’s stopping the company from releasing a PlayStation exclusive multiplayer military shooter that could compete against CoD once Microsoft buys up Activision!
