Phish has been announced as the next musical act to take the stage at Las Vegas' brand new cutting-edge concert venue, The Sphere. The rockers will follow in the footsteps of U2, who inaugurated the space just weeks ago.

Speculation has been swirling for weeks about who might take over for U2 once the Irish band’s current run of shows ends. Now, a winner has been revealed, and it’s a group that didn’t appear to be a part of the very public conversation around the topic—though perhaps that was part of the plan by the team in charge of booking the Sphere.

The jam band, known for their improvisational performances and dedicated fan base, will be only the second musical act to grace the technologically advanced venue in Sin City. U2 opened the Sphere on September 29 with the first concert in their U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere residency. After intense demand for tickets, the group extended their run into this coming February.

Phish is set to star in a four-show run, scheduled for every night from April 18-21, 2024. This four-night extravaganza promises to be a thrilling experience for long-time fans, drawing thousands to Las Vegas to witness the band's dynamic performances. Adding to the excitement, each night will feature not only a unique setlist—which is usual for the band—but the music will be accompanied by new visuals every night.

A release from the band's representatives announcing the short residency hinted at the prospect of an ongoing partnership with the venue, stating, "These shows mark the beginning of a new relationship between Phish and Sphere." While expressing optimism about the collaboration, the release clarified that, “they will be the only shows Phish will perform at the venue in 2024,” so as not to let followers believe they don't need to buy tickets.

For fans eager to secure their spot at this extraordinary event, the opportunity to request tickets has already started via Phish's official website. The ticket request period is open until December 11. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on December 15.
