Only three footballers from Barcelona's first men’s team sell more shirts than the Ballon d’Or winners, Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmati.

In Spain, women's football has gained unprecedented momentum since the women’s national team won the first World Cup in its history.

For this reason, but also because of the fight for equality that they have championed after what happened with Luis Rubiales and Barcelona’s continental success in winning the Women’s Champions League last season, two Ballon d’Or winners, Alexia Putellas and Aitana Bonmatí, are selling more shirts than most male footballers at the club.

The program 'Què t'hi jugues?' by Cadena 'SER' has revealed the top-5 best-selling FC Barcelona shirts this season. The first three Barcelona footballers who sell the most shirts are, in order: Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, and Gavi.

The Top-5 is completed by two players from the women’s team: Alexia Putellas, the 2021 and 2022 Ballon d’Or, and her midfield mate, Aitana Bonmatí who won this year’s edition of the prestigious French award.

Footballers such as Lamine Yamal, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araújo, Raphinha, Jules Koundé, and Ferran Torres; or the signings Joao Félix, Joao Cancelo, and Ilkay Gündogan have not managed to outsell these two women’s football icons.

In the speech she gave after receiving the 2023 Ballon d'Or, Aitana Bonmatí recalled a particular moment; playing in front of a sold-out Camp Nou. She thanked her club who bet on her and her teammates “when no one believed, for giving me the opportunity to be a professional soccer player. Who would have told me when I was a child that I would play in a full Camp Nou! », she stated.

10 weeks into the Liga F season, Barca are leading the championship with 10 victories.

30 points out of 30 possible, with 43 goals scored and only 2 conceded.

Caroline Graham Hansen is the leading top scorer with 7 goals, Salma Paralluelo trailing behind her with 6, and Aitana completing the top 3 with 5 goals.

The men’s team currently finds itself in fourth place behind the leader Real Madrid, the surprise of the season, Girona, and Atletico Madrid.

Xavi’s men have 31 points out of a possible 42 after 14 matchdays, winning 9, drawing 4, and losing one game.

Offensively, the team has found the back of the net on 27 occasions. Lewandowski is the top scorer with 7 goals, Ferran Torres has 3, while João Cancelo and Raphinha have 2 each.

Defensively, things aren’t as good as Xavi would have wished for. Opponents have scored 14 goals and Marc-André ter Stegen only managed to keep a clean sheet in 6 matches.

Barcelona, for its part, has not included any of its players in the Top-10 that sell the most shirts.

According to 'Fanatic', the list includes Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid), Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain), Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United), Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal).
